The Showcase concert is an annual concert presented by the band, color guard, and chorus students in which they "showcase" their talent.
Volunteers signup sheet for Showcase to be posted in late November
Descriptions of Volunteer Positions for Showcase:
Publicity Help- These two positions require you to be able to help before the event in getting the posters up around town to advertise the event, help with the Bear Notes (shout outs that parents can put in the programs) and help with the program folding on the afternoon of the first concert.
Backstage Help- Four volunteers are needed for each rehearsal and each performance to help outside the band room and at the stage doors. Tasks will include helping to call acts to the stage doors, keeping the students quiet as they move through to their performance location and guiding them, when necessary, on where they need to be. No experience necessary. Everything you need to know will be shared on the day you volunteer. Because there is a very small amount of training needed, if you would like to help with this job on a performance night, you must also help during a rehearsal. That way you will have been trained during rehearsal, and will be a pro on show night.
Ticket Booth Help- This person will work in the ticket booth with a volunteer from chorus to sell tickets the night of the event. Everything is provided for you. We just need a smiling face to assist our Showcase attendees.
Ticket Taker/Door Attendant- This person will be at the left hand door to the auditorium to tear the tickets as our guests for the evening enter the auditorium. Half of the ticket is then given back to the guest to be used for reentry purposes. Part of this position is assisting people when entering and exiting during the show to minimize the effect on the performances.
Concessions- During the Thursday performance, band runs a small concession area in the lobby of the auditorium. Chorus will do the same on Friday. We need four people who will help sell the items that have been provided by the band families. You may also be asked to help keep the noise level in the lobby down during the performance. You will work directly with Lori Weisberg, our Hospitality Chair.
Basket Help- There is a basket auction of sorts at this event that helps to raise money for the band, chorus, and colorguard. All of the sections in the band create a themed basket that all event attendees can attempt to win by purchasing tickets. The basket helpers will help to sell tickets, monitor the baskets during the performances and on Friday night assist in getting the baskets to the winners. You will work directly with Tammy Potosky, our Ways and Means Chair.
Basket Help Before the Event- These people will assist Tammy, our Ways and Means Chair, before the event with organizing the baskets and getting them prepared to be displayed the nights of the event.
TICKETS WILL BE NOW ON SALE FOR SHOWCASE!!
Pre-Sale Tickets are $7. Tickets at the door are $8.
